 The Deeds of Faith

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE

James 2:14-18

14 What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15 Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

A balance has to be reached between pursuing our Lord in worship, growing spiritually, developing relationships with other fellow Christians and together reaching out to the lost and ministering to the marginalized spiritually and meeting their social needs.

Reaching out to the poor is faith with works and is representative of Christ and His teachings.

VISION:

To realize the desire of God to reach out to those who are in need by providing the necessary helps from the goodness and resources of caring people.

MISSION:

To provide helps in various forms to people in need and within reach so that Christian witness and the spread of God’s Word are expressed through good works and through touching other people’s lives.

GOALS:

  • To involve churches and members of WIN in reaching out to the needs of the poor and those in need due to adverse social, economic, physical, psychological and spiritual conditions.
  • To extend help from members/churches to our pastors and members who are in need of medical help/attention and the local church.
  • To assist churches in the construction or completion of their places of worship to strengthen their presence and influence in the communities where they are located/situated.
  • To assist churches and WIN ministries to be involved in their communities and become a presence for Christ through the feeding, teaching of proper nutrition, livelihood and self-help programs and Christian Education.
  • To disciple a nation and secure the hope of a nation through the propagation of effective and relevant Christian Education.
  • To rebuild communities affected by calamities through relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction through the repair and construction of shelters, construction of multi-purpose centers and implementation of effective and long-term livelihood programs.
  • To partner with government agencies and NGOs to protect communities from trafficking of women and children through information, education and livelihood programs.
